ARTIST INFORMATION / HANNAH CARRICK
BIOGRAPHY
Hannah Carrick is an Australian artist who lives and works in Byron Bay. Carrick uses her art to celebrate the female form and create healing and solitude — for herself and for those viewing her work. Her work is recognizable by her bold use of color, scale, and textured paint as Carrick builds layers of color with richly pigmented oil paint and mixed media. Carrick uses color as therapy and her works are inspired by and often reflect themes of independence, womanhood, and nature.
Since 2015, Carrick has shown four solo exhibitions and been featured in fashion & lifestyle publications including as Harper’s Bazaar and Gourmet Traveller. A passionate advocate for empowering women, led by her own personal experiences, Carrick has worked closely with charitable partners including UNHCR and Dress for Success, and has devoted collections to raise money for women's rights organisations. Carrick is represented by LA-based gallery, Tappan Collective.

ARTIST STATEMENT
“For me, the process of creating and using my hands generates a sense of healing and solitude. Painting and colour is my therapy, my escapism during darker times. I see my works as little windows of sunshine, nostalgia and inspiration.” - Hannah Carrick
