Some words from the Artist on this piece;

灯籠 (Tōrō), Inspired by Japanese stone lanterns or tōrō which translates to ‘light basket’, I have been exploring the idea of carving the bases of my vases to create small legs. I deeply appreciate the significance of the legs of tōrō, as it draws an acknowledgement and reverence towards the ground on which the legs rest upon.

To commune with the environment and ground we find ourselves on. This piece seeks to hold a reverence for the place it resides on and a touch of whimsy in its anthropomorphic form.
