Some words from the Artist on this piece;
遺物 (ibutsu), This wood-fired teapot has an igneous quality, as if it emerged from the depths of the earth. I had not worked with this clay in a wood firing before—when fired in a conventional electric kiln, it turns a dark brown, but in the wood-fired kiln, it developed a silvery, wine-colored sheen. The surface carries traces of flame and ash, and the way the light catches the subtle metallic hues makes it feel almost relic-like.
